Hi, I’m Ashley.
MA, MHC-LP
I’m a therapist who wants to help people live a meaningful and value-driven life. Working under the supervision of two licensed psychologists, I specialize in providing psychotherapy for adults in New York working through life transitions, anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma and loss, relationship issues, and psychedelic integration.
I take an integrative and tailored approach to therapy, utilizing evidence-based practices, such as Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), with humanistic and existential frameworks by focusing on meaning-making, acceptance, and the holistic view of each individual. I work to help my clients change their relationship with difficult thoughts and emotions, identify their values, and take committed action (after we answer the “why?” I want us to answer the “so what?”). Through a collaborative and empathetic therapeutic relationship, I aim to create an environment in which my clients can develop a true, authentic self and that serves as a safe base to return to when they try out their true self in the real world.
Prior to getting into private practice work, I provided counseling services at the NYU Center for Counseling and Community Wellbeing, which aims to provide comprehensive and culturally-sensitive mental health care to underserved communities. I started my career in neuroscience, conducting research on motivation and schizophrenia at Columbia University Medical Center and the New York Psychiatric Institute. Since then, I’ve had a range of experience, from I/O psychology to behavioral intervention for adolescents, young adults and their families. In addition to my work and educational experience, I’ve also participated in trainings for ACT and psychedelic-assisted therapy, am a Board Member of the New York Chapter of the Association of Contextual Behavioral Science, and received certifications in relationship coaching and in positive psychology from the University of Pennsylvania.
Outside of work, I spend my time connecting with family and friends, reading a lot of fiction, traveling, practicing yoga, and watching Manchester City (hopefully) win the league.
